2024-25 OSSAA PLAYOFF MEDIA PASSES

The OSSAA wants to make sure that your sports department has everything they need to cover OSSAA playoff events during the 2024-25 school year. The sooner passes are requested the better chance you will receive them in time for the playoffs. Please make sure that everyone in your sports department uses the exact same name for your media organization so no passes are lost in printing. The first OSSAA playoff contest this school year will take place on Saturday, September 21st with the Regional Cheer competitions.

Please don’t wait until just days before the playoffs start to request your pass. These requests will NOT be honored.

1 – By Monday, August 26th, the 2024-25 OSSAA Media Playoff Pass request link will go live on the OSSAA website under the MEDIA tab.

2 – Each full time sports department employee of a recognized media outlet that will be covering OSSAA playoff events during the entire 2024-25 school year will need to request their own pass through the link. Only one pass can be requested per individual. The name of the requestor/contact needs to match the name of the attendee so they can agree to the terms of accepting the pass. If the names don’t match, the request will be cancelled.

3 – Each individual requesting a pass will need to complete the free Implicit Bias course on the NFHS Learn website.

4 – Each individual requesting a pass must acknowledge that they have completed the free Implicit Bias course and that they have read and agree to all contents of the Media Requirements, Conditions and Guidelines at OSSAA playoff events.

5 – Once ALL passes from your sports department have been requested individually, the sports director or sports editor must send an e-mail to Van Shea Iven at [email protected] with a complete list in alphabetical order of the people in your sports department who are authorized to receive a pass. Names not on the sports director/sports editors list, will not receive a pass.

6 – Approved passes will be printed and mailed on September 10, 2024, September 27, 2024, October 18, 2024, November 6, 2024, January 10, 2025, January 31, 2025, February 24, 2025, March 28, 2025 and April 11, 2025.

7 – Emergency passes may be printed on additional dates, only if time allows, for $20 per pass.

8 – If an employee needing an OSSAA Media Playoff Pass is seasonal, part-time or a stringer, please contact Van Shea Iven at (405) 840-1116 with this information.

9 – If a media member gives their pass to someone to gain admittance to an OSSAA playoff event or to gain access to areas reserved for the media, the pass will be taken and that media member will no longer be eligible for a pass in the future.

NFHS Learn Implicit Bias Course

2024-25 OSSAA PLAYOFFS VIDEO LIVE STREAMING

The NFHS Network owns the video rights to all OSSAA playoff events. If they choose to video live stream a contest, they will do so exclusively. Any group wishing to video live stream and/or televise an OSSAA playoff contest, regardless of length or where it is shown, must fill out the 2024-25 Video Live Streaming Agreement form found on the OSSAA website under the MEDIA tab and send it in for approval by Monday at noon prior to the event taking place. ***Any request that fails to meet the deadline will have a $50 late fee applied if time allows for it to be approved. No requests made the day of the event will be approved.*** Failure to fill out the form for approval will result in being charged the full amount plus $100 the first round of the playoffs, the full amount plus $200 for the second round of the playoffs, the full amount plus $300 for the third round of the playoffs, etc. NFHS Network schools must fill the form out, but they will NOT be charged to video live stream. Please e-mail all requests to [email protected]. A link with all approved video live streams will be posted on the OSSAA website at least 24 hours before the contests take place.
